Dr. Chanda is a board certified internal medicine physician who has more than 22 years of experience in both primary care and hospital medicine. She is one of only a handful of doctors who provide care not only in the office, but also in the hospital when you really need continuity of care. She believes in taking the time to carefully listen to her patients’ concerns and developing an individualized plan for them to achieve better health and well-being. She enjoys caring for patients with complex medical conditions, but her effort is always in trying to improve overall wellness so that many chronic diseases can either be avoided or treated early with as few medications as possible. She has a special interest in women’s health, nutrition, preventive health, and wellness.
Dr. Chanda completed her Internal Medicine residency from Abington Memorial Hospital (affiliated with Temple University Hospital) in Pennsylvania. During her residency she was the recipient of multiple awards including the Eleanor Dixon Award for best original research. She earned her medical degree from King George's Medical School from Lucknow in India where she graduated at the top of her class. She is a board certified physician in internal medicine and a member of the American College of Physicians and Society of Hospital Medicine. In 2024, she was named a Washingtonian Top Doctor, an honor awarded through peer nomination and professional recognition for excellence in patient care
Dr. Chanda speaks fluent Hindi, Urdu and Bengali. When not at work, Dr. Chanda enjoys reading, listening to music and spending time with her husband, two children, and one very active and friendly dog.
